CSPi Announces Next-Generation Myricom ARC Series Secure Intelligent Adapter

BOSTON, Nov. 09, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CSPi (NASDAQ:CSPI), a provider of advanced security products and security services, as well as IT technology managed services, today announced availability of its next-generation Myricom® ARC Series Secure Intelligent Adapter (SIA).  This multi-port 10/25G intelligent NIC provides InfoSec teams a patent pending approach to achieve the application-specific features they require to effectively support advanced security applications, including micro-segmentation, encryption, key management, packet capture, filtering and storage-handling functions.

CSPi’s Myricom ARC Series SIA provides significant benefit to security teams in not only off-loading encryption functionality but also serves as a zone of trust for encryption keys.  Using the SIA for key storage and placing the local execution of encryption onto the SIA ensures that during the event of a server breach the keys will not be exposed. This solves one of the industry’s biggest challenges regarding executing and storing keys on servers - when breached if the keys are in-use they are exposed and can not only be read but also reused by the intruder on any device running that application, anywhere within the organization.

“Our Myricom ARC Series SIA is a big step forward in providing InfoSec and DevOps teams the capabilities they require to ensure speed of business without sacrificing critical security needs,” said Gary Southwell, General Manager CSPi. “With its ability to run our new ARIA Software Defined Security platform applications, organizations can deploy a cost-effective, end-to-end enterprise security solution for 1/10th the price and with 10x performance boost when runnng processor intensive functions such as encryption. The solution even allows an organization to secure multiple applications, with multiple tenants each with their own locally protected keys.”

The Myricom ARC Series SIA combines the benefits found in a high-speed network adapter with the programmability of a specialty ARM processor to provide not only wire speed NIC functionality but also the flexibility to meet evolving security needs.  Organizations that take advantage of running  critical functions on the SIA versus the server processor can expect cost savings in the need for fewer server upgrades, lower power consumption while also achieving increased application performance.
