Aquantia Quenches Multi-Gig Demand with AQcite
Aquantia is firmly entrenched as a cut above the rest in delivering multi-gigabit Ethernet. This week, Aquantia further cemented its industry leadership with the announcement of the industry’s first programmable FPGA-programmable multi-gigabit Ethernet PHY device. The AQcite suite of programmable multi-gigabit Ethernet Physical Layer (PHY) devices integrates Aquantia’s AQrate BASE-T PHY with a Xilinx Kintex -7 FPGA, and is aimed at supporting Audio-Visual (AV) over Ethernet, machine vision, data center, 5G wireless, enterprise as well as metro and industrial environments.
“As Multi-Gigabit penetrates further in the market, customers want to develop their own system solutions while riding the network speed upgrade and ubiquity of standard Ethernet,” noted Amir Bar-Niv, VP Marketing at Aquantia. “Combining a Xilinx FPGA with our best-in-breed AQrate technology has allowed us to deliver a unique product that we believe will unleash a vast number of applications.”
Ethernet plays a vital role in the creation and testing of applications, and in an effort to stay ahead of the curve comes AQuantia AQcite as a means to deliver the expected performance with minimum cost and footprint for customers. The first product unveiled, the AQLX107 empowers customers to develop their own protocol converter, data multiplexing, bridge/controller or adaption layer functionality utilizing standard Ethernet protocol.
