Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Week in Review: TechLogix Networx, Colt Technology & More

February 11, 2017

Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in Multi-Gigabit Ethernet this week.

The week started off with the news that U.S.-based manufacturer TechLogix Networx has joined the SDVoE Alliance. The company designs and manufactures technology for the custom installation and commercial audio-visual markets, and chose to join the SDVoE Alliance because it is dedicated to standardizing the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments. You can find out more about what the SDVoE Alliance can do for companies like TechLogix HERE.

Meanwhile, TMC’s Paula Bernier reported this week that the 25G and 50G Ethernet plugfests recently held at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory demonstrated a high degree of multivendor interoperability and specification conformance. Sixteen companies attended the event and participated in various test scenarios. Bernier has everything you need to know HERE.

On a different note, Colt Technology Services worked on expanding its presence this week by bringing multi-gigabit Ethernet networks to enterprise buildings. The multi-gigabit Ethernet network Colt has deployed is used by 19 of the top 25 global telecoms companies and 18 out of the top 25 global media companies, as well as more than 50 exchanges and 13 European central banks. Michael Guta has everything you need to know about the Colt IQ Network HERE.

Finally, the week rounded out with some insights from TMC’s Laura Stotler on the evolution of multi-gigabit Ethernet. While referencing an article from Phil Delansay, co-founder and SR VP business development at Aquantia Corporation, a manufacturer of high-speed transceivers, Stotler discusses the difference in how wireless Ethernet has undergone steady bandwidth increases over the past decade vs. how little has happened with wired Ethernet. You can find out more HERE.

That’s all for this week. Come back next week to read all the latest news in the Multi-Gigabit Ethernet space.
