Comcast Adds Tiered Services with DOCSIS 3.1
Comcast has clearly put its customer service woes behind it, as recently it continues to expand it portfolio of services and national footprint. I’m not saying calling the Comcast customer service center will be a walk in the park, but as a business using its Ethernet services latency will be low and speeds with be exceptional.
Recently, Comcast Business unveiled DOCSIS 3.1-based service for Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern business customers. This includes: Charlottesville, VA; Baltimore, MD; Washington D.C.; northern Delaware; New Jersey; Greater Philadelphia and Greater Boston.
The service was previously only available in Miami, Huntsville, Chattanooga, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and Nashville.
“Comcast is building the nation’s largest gig-speed network. We have been at the forefront of DOCSIS 3.1 deployment and today’s roll out further demonstrates our commitment to bringing this transformational technology to all businesses in our footprint,” explained Kevin O’Toole, senior vice president of Product Management at Comcast Business.
With Businesses Internet 1 Gig and Business Internet 500, Comcast can now expand the deployment of gigabit services along its existing network to engage more customers. And, the new rollout is nice complimentary component to the multi-gigabit and gigabit services currently available to Comcast Business customers.
Comcast plans on expanding service areas for the Business 1 Gig and Business 500 across most of its service areas through 2018.
Ethernet service for a business is paramount, as with no network there is no business. And, as Comcast continues its current path it is helping businesses keep pace with our SaaStastic working world and then some.
How fast is your network?
