MACs and PCs Now Moving at Multi-Gigabit Speeds
The modern is workforce is quite mobile; chock full of those living out of a suitcase for months of the year. Many know the frustration of poor connectivity, especially when a high-performance multi-gigabit Ethernet network connection is available. Well, this is about to change thanks to multi-gigabit Ethernet innovator Aquantia.
Last week, CES served as the stage for Aquantia to demonstrate AQtion Ethernet Controllers. Specifically, how well they enable access to multi-gigabit Ethernet access in a number Thunderbolt 3 adaptors for MACs and PCs.
The solutions on display included Promise Technology’s Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE Ethernet adaptor based on the AQtion AQC107 as well as the Caldigit Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE Ethernet adaptor based on the AQtion AQC107.
“The availability of devices delivering Thunderbolt 3 to Multi-Gig connectivity with our AQtion controller is an important milestone for enabling the mobile workforce,” said Kamal Dalmia, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Aquantia. “Data hungry businesses need to balance the practicality of thinner, lighter laptops for their increasingly mobile workforces with the functionality employees need on the road, working at home or even in their own office. These new adaptors provide that flexibility.”
Aquantia set its sights on “the billion Ethernet port opportunity,” and is building momentum in enabling a multi-gigabit future. When one’s mobile devices are their lifeline back to home base performance is important, and on the road a critical component of delivering results is connectivity. The multi-gigabit revolution is upon us, quenching the need for speed one high-speed connection at a time.
